Hatching season is now in full swing on our four farms, as well as in the schools, nurseries, care homes and private homes we work with across England and Scotland. This means late nights and early starts – and it wasn’t very far into our first deliveries when Mother Nature decided to throw in an extra challenge with a blanket of late snow across some parts! But it’s a wonderful time of year – welcoming and caring for new life and seeing the signs of spring all around us.
We thought we’d share some recent ‘behind the scenes’ pics of life on the farms taken during March. We hope you enjoy! All care home setting photos shared with the relevant permissions and our thanks.
Peggy enjoying the recent snow!
Time to get those eggs into the incubator.
In they go!
On to hatching kit prepping.
Luckily, being family-run farms, we always have willing helpers…
…although the smaller ones are off to bed long before us bigger ones!
Out delivering our hatching kits, come rain, shine – or surprise snow!
Just a few days later…some wonderful moments to treasure…a big smile from a care home resident.
And another…
…and another!
The first ducklings back making new friends after returning from settings. Stay tuned during the months ahead to see them growing up!
We are still taking hatching kit bookings for the 2023 season, so please click here if you’d like to book.
